I posted about Mean Gene being passed away this year on my forums... If you don't know about it... here my re-posts as follows:

I'm liking some of what I see in the women's division. Asuka is the best one I think. She sort of reminds me of Sting in his early days. Wild and colorful. Different than the others.

what you think?
No talent, no stamina, no skills at all. Was all hype no substance. Could never sell the opponents moves, or simply never tried, and could never put an opponent "over" and/or never tried. He was cancer for pro wrestling. BUT, he's at least telling the truth now.

That clip is OLD by the way.

How's Ronda Rousey doing?
She wasn't getting over with the fans very well so they predictably, had to flip her heel. Her in-ring performance is getting better though, and she's taken on the deranged lunatic persona of Roddy Piper when they first flipped him heel, (Piper is her idol, she even got permission to wear the kilt, his colors and logo styling, and use his nickname "Rowdy.") this Sunday she main events Wrestlemania (first female main event in WM history) taking on Ric Flair's daughter Ashley (Billed as Charlotte Flair) and Becky Lynch in a "fatal 3-way" winner take all match for both the "Smackdown" and "Raw" women's title belts. Rousey is the current "Raw" title holder.

I would like "Charlotte" better without the ridiculous fake boobs, but that's just me. But one thing for sure is, she stands a good 4 inches taller than any other female on the roster and she is strong as a female ox. She has her dad's nasty mean streak at times but hasn't yet embraced the heel role to her dad's level. But she makes her opponents look good, she is a good seller, overall a really good performer but really not a very good talker - she's really not very good on the mic. She never planned to follow in Ric's footsteps, but the untimely death of her brother inspired her to carry on his dreams. She just won the "Smackdown" women's title last week in a really good match vs. Asuka.

The fan fave in all of this is Becky Lynch, a true organic rags to riches story. Billed as "The Man" she is a true to life "Irish Lass-kicker" who comes to us from Dublin, Ireland who dropped out of college and began wrestling, learning the trade the hard way through the independent circuits of Ireland and Europe. In 2006 she suffered a severe brain injury which kept her out of action for six years. She worked as a flight attendant and as a part-time actress in Ireland to make ends meet while working the indys and during her recovery. In 2013 she signed on to WWE's development territory, nXt and finally made her bones so to speak.

I know, more than you asked for.

what your thoughts on latest events leading vince retiring from WWE?
That's been bandied about for years, still hasn't happened. But I think if he ever does and leaves Paul completely in charge, one of the first things we'll see is more homage to WCW than ever before. Vince still buries that history every chance he gets, Paul won't. Paul was already able to bring back War Games and The Great American Bash, and they're negotiating to get the trademark for Halloween Havoc. Paul probably brings back Starrcade as well.

Who's Paul?

As to any of the "wrasslin" stuff like WCW ever coming back, thats a dead file. No way does WWE resurrect that branding.

Oh I agree, didn't mean to suggest that. When they did Starrcade there was Tony Schivone though, talking into the old WCW microphone in promos, so never say never.

BUT they already are bringing back more of the WCW style of wrestling, it's part of their new deal with FOX. FOX wants it more like "real" wrestling, lots less talk lots more action, nothing scripted line by line move by move like WWE does, instead the matches although still predetermined outcome, will more and more be called live in the ring by the performers instead of the rehearsed crap they've always done. We're already seeing this change happening. This change will be going into storylines and promos as well "Bullet points" instead of word for word Hollywood-type scripting.

Paul = Paul Levesque aka "Triple H." Son in law of Vince McMahon. People don't know he got his start in the IWF then went to WCW where he developed his "pedigree" finisher and really, the whole "Triple H" persona.

Got the WWE Network free month... Used it to watch Wrestlemania but since then, been binge watching 1989 WCW events Clash of Champions, TV tapings, and Pay Per Views such as Halloween havoc and War Games!

So much for equality, WWE. You have a pay per view event in Saudi Arabia, and NO women's division matches! You KowTow to the Saudis, yet put yourselves forward as pro-women? What a crock of shit. NO women on the card at all, and truly I am shocked you didn't have ringside commentator Renee' Young in a Burka. (Or did she wear one, off-camera?)

Shameful. I guess we weren't supposed to notice.

There's no hypocrisy there. Pro wrestling is and always has been about what's good for business. And always will be. Raking in millions while only having to use half your crew is, good for business! If it wasn't, it wouldn't happen.

You don't know that the Saudi government asked WWE not to prominently feature women any more than you know it was possibly the women in WWE themselves who collectively asked not to be involved. It's just as likely the same as it's likely that none of the above happened.

There were no women on the card. That's all we can really, actually know for sure.

Anyone else wish they'd go back to the Attitude era?
I can't watch it live, I have to DVR it so I can zip through the first 20 minutes of nothing but flap yapping... Then zip through other crap I don't care anything for. This means I actually only watch about 20 minutes of their 2 hour live show, tops.

Smackdown though, is soon to be moving to Friday night on FOX and scuttlebutt in the dirt sheets has it that it will follow more closely the Nitro format, more action far less talk. We shall see.... Prime time broadcast network instead of just cable. Ratings all-important.

Which... @trlrtrash13 betta not find out about Lacy Evans. Let me trumpet her better points:

- good-looking
- talented
- charismatic
- heat magnet

Perfect heel gimmick and carries it well. Best heel performer since Ric Flair and no that is not exaggeration. But.... none of this is why the trash of y'all's trailer better avoid her.

Because on top of everything else, Lacy is a United States Marine. Served 5 years in the Marine equivalent of a SWAT team - She was a special forces MP! In the Marines!

Anyhow here's her entrance tune, pretty snappy:

I'm marching for you
I've got your number
Yeah, I don't think you're ready

Don't speak
Now mind your manners
And be respectful
You better keep it steady

Don't be jealous cause they like what they see
You say I'm devilish but it's not what it seems
It comes so natural, can't take it from me
Like a lady! Act like a lady!
So traditional (Traditional)
Like a lady! Act like a lady!
It's unconditional (Unconditional)
Like a lady! Act like a lady!
Step back
Why don't you get back
I run a tight ship
And don't you dare forget that

I don't need
Your permission
I'm on a mission

I don't care where your head's at

Here was her match tonight on RAW, she has a finisher called the "Woman's Right" which literally is just a right cross. But she knocks 'em the fugg out with it.

WWE Smackdown is on the fall schedule starting early October. Fox reportedly paid something like 250 million to buy the show.

Don't know what "era" this is going to be, but there's some recent big changes to report.

Even though Heyman failed in his second chance to run a promotion with the ill-fated WWE-ECW. Even though the timing and nuances of these hires suggest Bischoff and Heyman will be glorified figureheads, and Vince McMahon's increasingly detrimental fingerprints will remain all over the current product. Even though Heyman consistently worked with WWE in a backstage capacity—and has been involved in many key creative storylines working alongside the likes of Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar with ratings continuing to fail in spite of his influence. And even though WWE's terminally bleeding product has tried, and failed, with two previous resets in the last six months. Despite every glaring red flag and criticism against Heyman he's the man in charge at Raw.

Bischoff ultimately failed with WCW, then bombed out at TNA, it's really uncertian to me what he could actually bring to the table.

Meanwhile WWE continues to flounder.
